Wait, you don't know me yet.

Hey! I'm Roy and if you haven't guessed I'm a photographer/videographer. I specialize in weddings and elopements, but most of all: I believe in capturing couples and their relationship authentically and through amazing experiences.

Listen, a wedding day is your day, it's your adventure plain and simple. So if that means hiking in Sedona is your adventure that's what we'll do. If its jetskis and the beach or traditional wedding with family I'm there too. I just want you to have memories you'll love to relive ten years from now.

I work with couples to design their ‘perfect day’ and then help them make it happen. So I want to meet with you, I want to hear all about how you met and then I want to capture you being yourselves.

Here's some links to the good stuff:

What is a wedding film?

Imagine being able to relive your wedding, in 5-7 minutes, over and over again.

There are so many reasons I love these. I come from the aspect of preserving memories, because that's what we do here. First things first, I can tell you without a doubt I will have one of these at my wedding for two reasonsand . The first reason is simple, I will most likely have a destination or elopement wedding and while I don't necessarily want the big party for myself, I dont want to take away the ability to see it from those who couldn't be there. This is a way for everyone, including your favorite relative to be able to see your wedding in whole without traveling to you. The second and arguably more important reason is I personally want to be able to see myself interact with my fiance or wife at the time in motion in addition to stills in 20 years. This is something I would want to watch every year on my anniversary, and really any chance I can get. Maybe you write custom vows, maybe you share the story of how you met, whatever it is you can only hear it one time in person. Video on the other hand allows that story to be retold over and over again.

That said, don't take my word for it. Here's the Bride and her grandmother (who couldn't join us unfortunately) talking about that video above.

Timeline planning & Vendor Lists

Having a photographer is one part of your wedding but what about the others? In addition to helping you create a schedule to optimize your day for the best memories possible I will also send you our favorite vendors for your area, even if I have to find new ones!

Albums Included

Facebook albums are not the place to relive moments from your wedding, it's too distracting. We create a fully custom designed book of memories that you help design during your reveal session. Having a physical copy of these memories allows you to relive moments from your wedding without logging in somewhere.

Reveal Session

Instead of just dropping a link to your images, we have a little reveal session with you where you design your wedding album, watch your wedding film, and go through your gallery together. *family & friends welcome to join*

You can reserve your date with a Booking Fee retainer of $1250, collections may be chosen at a later date.

Booking fee retainer is not additional to packages, it is included in the prices above.

Frequently Asked and Answered

We're ready to book, how do we do this?

Awesome, fill out the contact page and we'll get right to it. The retainer is $1250 which locks your date (so I can't book it for anyone else) and is a part of your wedding package (i.e I don't surprise you and add it on.)

Do you have a back up equipment?

Yup, backup camera bodies, flashes, all the fun stuff. You never know when some drunk dude at reception is going to try and slow dance with your light stand destroying the flash in the process. (Thanks Steve!)

I have full liability and equipment insurance to cover all that as well.

How many images will I recieve?

That depends on coverage and session type. A good guestimate is 40-50 photos per hour of shooting, because I heavily narrow it to only the best and most memorable photos I try very hard to keep wedding galleries under 1000. It's very hard for couples to go through 1000 photos, and I don't like overwhelming people.

Will you use a shot list or pinterest board I create for images?

That's a no on that one, captain. I have before and its more distracting than useful because instead of capturing your real wedding, I'm trying to recreate someone else's. Truth be told you will get more photos you love if you allow my team and I to create from what we see. I will however use a list when we're trying to get family photos so I can make sure I got everyone who needs to be in a photo, in a photo.

Are there discounts if we don't want an engagement session?

I have a collection that doesn't include one, and the value of the engagement session can always be traded for an extra hour of coverage or album upgrade of some sort. I highly recommend an engagement session though, its a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera.

Can other people take photos on our wedding day?

Not other vendors and not not during the ceremony. Any other time I don't mind cell phones or pocket cameras from guests. Its just people have more of a chance to ruin your photos when they shoot during ceremony. Do you want a kiss shot or a photo of someone's behind trying to get the perfect iphone shot for instagram?

Why you over this other photographer?

I don't like to compare, because I don't know how they get your images. I keep things light and easygoing, but don't mistake that for a lack of creativity or passion. I am legitimately bummed when I have a wedding Saturday but not Sunday, I actually whole-heartedly love doing this. I try to use, prompts, games, and natural interactions rather than trying to conform you two into some some of magazine pose I saw once. The difference is in the experience.

Where are you based? Will you travel?

I think anyone with a camera will tell you they will travel, for real. That's like why we get into photography is to see new things. (that's a yes to travel)

I am currently based 45 minutes from downtown Chicago in Valparaiso, Indiana and spend parts of the year in Arizona. HOWEVER, as of October 2020 I will be full time based in Phoenix, Arizona.

Styled shoot vs Engagement session

A styled engagement is a 2 hour multi-location and/or multi-outfit shoot. I will help you decide on where, what to wear, and bring a lighting director to help make sure you look on point during your shoot. A natural engagement session is much more straight forward with just one hour at one location of your choosing. I will help find that one location of course, but we wont be doing multiple stops and outfit changes are a no-go.

How long is delivery from our wedding date?

I take extreme care with your photos & videos so I deliver about 8-10 weeks out from your wedding day. In that time I am editing my photos, the seconds, the video, and creating 90 pages worth of content for your wedding album. Then we set a premier date and we live design your album, watch the video, and send the online gallery to you.
