Creating these sunrise engagement photos at Tortilla Flats with Kyrsten + Morgan was an amamzing experience. This was one of those fun but complicated shoots. Lol We had originally planned to try and get out early to our location of choice to add stars to the shoot but unfortunately location choice number one was closed. One of the rules of engagement sessions is always having a backup spot or two up your sleeve because you never know if a special event or something else might cause your location to be unavailable. Kyrsten and Morgan were literally so down to earth about the whole thing they didn't mind that my secret location in Tortilla Flats was an additional 20 minutes away and would mean we would be sacrificing stars most likely. I am so glad they did because honestly I think this Tortilla Flats location was significantly more interesting and unique to shoot in. It's one of those locations you have to park your car at a scenic view parking lot and then hike a bit up a hill to get to and to be totally honest, I only found it by accident a few years back.
For Arizona our shoot was freezing at abotu 35-45 degrees until the sun came up. Kyrsten and Morgan definitely have a more playful than serious vibe to their relationship so I wanted to incorporate that with their posing style for the shoot. We did some serious poses mixed in but the majority was piggyback rides, inappropriate jokes, and the ever famous "kidnap her" prompt. For my couples I've found that keeping things light and low key are the best ways to get real personality and smiles into photos. I even ended up making a gif out of the "kidnap her" prompt which has provided me with endless entertainment. Haha
